I’m back!

OK, it’s 5 days before Christmas, and more than 60 days since my last blog entry. I’m a horrible blogger. Let’s catch up really quickly, and maybe next week I can actually add some more pictures.
1. Donna’s done. It’s gorgeous, deliciously warm and soft, and gets so many “did you really make that” comments. I love it.
2. Lots more socks done. Of course. Since I had “mastered” the 2 circs method, I decided to try to do 2 socks on 2 circs this time. I’m almost to the heel flap, and it’s great! I turn the needles even less than I did for one at a time, and way less than on double points. If I can get through picking up the gusset stitches without a problem, I think we have a winner.
3. Proof that I love my youngest daughter – she needed a gift for an exchange yesterday, and really wanted a scarf. We went to the store, and she picked out (GASP) Homespun and Fun Fur. In my mind, in Hell they will give you Homespun and Fun Fur and tell you to knit endless floofy scarves. Really. I hate the stuff, and made way too many of them last year. But – one scarf (and one very happy little scarf recipient later) – it was worth it. Now what to do with the leftovers – Yuck!
4. Christmas knitting done, mostly. I have a vest to make for mom, but it’s a totally different gauge yarn than called for, and is going to require major swatching and math. Not what I want to tackle on my only day off this week, so I will wait until next week, when she’s here, so she can appreciate the difficulty as well. Aren’t I a wonderful daughter?
Mom and Lee (her SO) are coming Sunday. This requires a shift at our house, as we have no spare room. So – DD2 moves to a cot in our room, DD1 moves to DD2′s room, and Mom and Lee stay in DD1′s room. Mind you, DD1 is 15, and the room requires major cleaning before they come.
Off to finish my Christmas shopping. Yes, I’ve procrastinated. But I blogged! Merry Christmas to all!
